In class me and Shin Young were working together on our lit. circles. We were giving each other helpful feed back to help us get a better grade. For example. Shin Young's passages had a few grammatical mistakes and I told him about them. I helped him fix them up by giving him examples and showing him what he needed to improve or fix. The benefits of having a partner are:
You can give each other feedback to help each other improve and get better grades.
You can see what other people's opinions are and why they think that the passages they are important and how their passages may connect to yours.
But there were challenges while I was trying to complete my lit. circles. A lot of times I could not find connections and questions. I had trouble picking the right passage that I thought was important. I could not find a reason why I thought that that passage was important. But I was able to find a way around those challenges. I was having trouble finishing my second lit. circle and i was on moodle looking for anything that could help me. I needed to find questions or at least a lead on one. I was searching and I found a document called "Question Stems" I opened it and a whole new world opened up. I was looking at the cheat sheet for lit. Circle questions! I took two of them and bended them to match a question for hatchet. That is what made lit. Circles a lot easier.
I now understand Hatchet. It has a slight connection to Call it Courage. But reading other people's passages and questions makes me think about the book in a different angle. I think of it as a story of a boy trying to survive. Others see it as a quest to return to a boy to his family. I think that this helps because your opinions are not always the best, And seeing a book from different perspectives helps me too look at it differently and understand the book more.
