Another hypothesis is the geographical location and if the country was colonized in the great trade days. Most of the countries that either the British or the Dutch or the French conquered are now large and in some cases overpopulated. A good example is: India. It has one of the largest population rates in the world. They produce 84% of the worlds computer microchips and cars. They produce so many cars, in fact, that they almost made Detroit, the former car industry capital of the world, go out of business. Many of the world's largest communities used to be owned by the superpowers of the trade world. Maybe some of that superpower rubbed of onto the countries they conquered and helped them evolve into what they are now. Another great example is the Americas. When Britain came and took over the United States, which was just a colony back then, they were too arrogant and sure of themselves to expect an attack. But that was what they got. The American revolution kicked the British out and left the pilgrims to figure things out on their own. But How did countries that had no superpower to boss them around find out the secret of how to stay in power?
This is the final reason that I think that wealth is more evident above the tropic of cancer is neighboring influence. A good example is from Russia to China During the 60's and 70's. China was struggling to keep up with the industrial progress of the west. Farmers and workers were told to work extra hours The bad part was, that China was running out of resources. To keep up with the steel industry people took forks spoons and farm tools and threw them into the furnace. This where Russia plays its part.
China sees how well Russia is doing and decides to make Russia its Idol. china becomes a communist state and follows Russia's example. They colonize workers concentrates parts of the country and gives each a job and makes sure that everyday is the same. They keep their industries going and going and going. Communism helped China become a large and industrialized country. And clues of communist legacy are still here today. China is still a large producer of needed materials and items. These are the three reasons I think that The world is wealthier above the Tropic of Cancer.
