How can Understanding The Past, Help us to Understand our World?
It helps us to understand how much of drastic change we have undergone. Back then, they didn't have cars or guns, they had to live off the land and hunt their own food, instead of going to the market and getting groceries for the week. They would have rocks and caves to live in, while we get to live in nice warm and cozy houses, they faced the weather and had to keep moving. There were predators and danger all around them but for us the normal routine of going to school, or working instead of surviving in the wild. And imagine how frustrating it would have been to live in a world were you couldn't communicate with others and had to physically show someone or use body language. Some times lack of food would drive them to cannibalism forcing them to eat their own clan their own sons and daughters, luckily we are not in this situation anymore. When you needed to make things like tools, they couldn't run to the store and have the tools ready for them, they didn't exist, They had to plan what they were going to build, then find out what they needed. Then they would forge crude tools that could barely get the job done. There were no such thing as power tools, or carpenters to do the dirty work it was all use what you can find and never waste it. Maybe this would be an ironic time for the saying: "Never pass up a good thing."Well i don't think that our friendly neighborhood neanderthal ever did. He would have used animal pelts and crafted them to clothing and so on. But He couldn't have any Gucci or Girgio Armani, only animal skins and weeds for shoelace. I think these are the main differences between us and us in animal skin. Thank you. I hope this was meaningful to you.
